Day1: Banteay Srei, Phnom Kulen-Palm Production Village-Banteay Samre-Pre Rup-Srah Srang Sunset

6:30 AM- Head to Banteay Srei temple.

7:30 AM- explore Banteay Srei “Citadel of Women” which is a modern name for this temple, but based on the inscription this temple was originally called Tribhuvanamahesvara. The special charm of this temple lies in its remarkable state of preservation, small size, and excellence of intricate decoration. The unanimous opinion amongst French archeologists who worked at Angkor is that Banteay Srei is a precious gem and jewelry in Khmer art.

8:30 AM-  moving to the next journey Phnom Kulen. It isn’t just a mountain; it’s a tapestry woven with history, spirituality, and breathtaking natural beauty. More than just a scenic escape, it’s a place where ancient echoes resonate, where empires were born, and where rivers that nourished Angkor Wat still flow. Step back in time to 802 AD, when King Jayavarman II declared independence on this very peak.

10:00 AM- Wander along the River of a Thousand Lingas”The River of Phallic Symbol”, where intricate Hindu Lingam carvings and Yonis adorn the riverbed and become the sacred river. Continue to see the spring water nearby which is one of 14 spring water on this mountain, and became the source of Siem Reap River.

10:30 AM- Moving on to a colossal reclining Buddha carved on top of a large sandstone block, Preah Ang Thom, Cambodia’s largest.

11:15 AM- trek through lush forests, swim in cascading waterfalls like Kulen; and enjoy a cool waterfall.

12:15 PM- Have lunch at a local restaurant near the waterfall.

1:15 PM– Head down to the next journey, and stop along the way to explore the palm production village to get more experience about local life.

3:00 PM- Explore Prasat Banteay Samre. It was constructed in the 12th century for dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. No inscription has been found for this temple, but the style of most of the architecture is similar to Angkor Wat.

4:00 PM- Explore the 10th-century temple-mountain with five towers on top. This temple was a state temple of King Rajendravaraman II dedicated to the supreme god Shiva as East Mebon dedicated to his ancestor. Unlike many Angkor-era temples that rest on a single level, Pre Rup boasts a three-tiered pyramid base, symbolizing Mount Meru, the mythical abode of the Hindu gods. The temple complex features six brick towers, three on each side of the eastern entrance. Intricate sandstone carvings adorn the lintels above doorways, depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.

5:00 PM- Enjoy the setting sun paints the sky with vibrant colors that reflect on the water’s surface. Compared to other sunset spots in Angkor Wat, Srah Srang offers a more serene experience. There’s plenty of space to relax and soak in the view without feeling crowded.

Day2: Angkor Wat sunrise-Ta Prohm-Banteay Kdei-Srah Srang-Angkor thom Complex.

4:30 AM- Depart to Angkor Wat temple whisking you through the sleepy Siem Reap streets, past slumbering cafes and shuttered shops. Reaching the Angkor Wat grounds, let’s begin your day before dawn, to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of this ancient temple. Witness the temple’s silhouette transform from a majestic outline to a glowing masterpiece bathed in golden light.

7:15 AM- Head toward Ta Prohm temple, while you can enjoy your breakfast box on your private car.

7:30 AM- Start to explore the North Gate of Ta Prohm, then walk to the main temple, and explore it more. Ta Prohm “Ancestor Brahma” is one of the large temples built in the late 12th century by King Jayavaraman VII for dedicating to his mother. It is renowned for its art, architecture, intricate carving, and complicated plan. This temple is also famous for its dramatic trees growing out of the ruins, creating a mystical, Be sure to see the iconic overgrown trees, then take your time to capture the photogenic spots and soak in the atmosphere.

8:30 AM- Move to explore the nearby temple “Banteay Kdei”. Banteay Kdei, meaning “Citadel of Monks’ Cells,” offers a serene escape within the bustling Angkor Archaeological Park. Built at the end of the 12th century under King Jayavarman VII, it exudes a unique charm distinct from its more famous neighbors.

9:30 AM– Your final stop for this morning is Srah Srang, which translates to “Royal Bath” in Khmer. This man-made lake stretches 700 meters by 350 meters and is still filled with water today. Explore the impressive platform built from laterite with sandstone molding is a popular feature. It has a cross shape with serpent balustrades and mythical creature decorations.

10:00 AM- Head back to the Hotel.

2:00 PM- Pick up, and head to the East Gate of Angkor Thom.

2:30 PM- Explore the East Gate of Angkor Thom, the grand capital of the Khmer Empire at its peak. Imagine this 9 km² walled city bustling with life in the 12th century. The towering gates, enigmatic sculptures, and grand avenues whisper tales of the past. Then we will walk on and along the city wall towards the Victory Gate of Angkor Thom.

3:15 PM- Head to the next journey, Preah Palilay temple. Upon reaching Preah Palilay we will walk past Tep Pranam Buddhist monastery, where you will see people get the Water-Blessing by Buddhist Monk. Then, continue to Prasat Preah Palilay, which offers a serene escape from the grandeur of its more famous neighbors. Though small, this Buddhist sanctuary holds its unique charm.

4:00 PM- Explore the Centre of Angkor Thom City “Prasat Bayon” a state temple adorned with hundreds of serene, enigmatic faces peering out from its towers. Each face, believed to represent the compassionate king Jayavarman VII, embodies the spirit of the Khmer Empire – powerful yet benevolent. Beyond the Bayon, explore architectural wonders, bas-reliefs depicting the Khmer history and daily life, Apsara the celestial dancers who perform for the god, etc.

5: 00 PM- Move onto the South Gate of Angkor Thom, then view the sunset at the moat of this capital city. After sunset we head back to the Hotel.

Day3- Banteay Chhmar temple-Banteay Toap-Phnom Sampov

4:30 AM- Depart from Siem Reap to Banteay Chhmar temple. The drive takes approximately 3 hours, offering beautiful views of the Cambodian countryside.

7:30 AM- Arrive and explore the vast Banteay Chhmar temple complex, marveling at its intricate carvings, unique sandstone reliefs depicting scenes from Hindu and Buddhist mythology, and the fascinating towers.

9:00 AM- Take a traditional ox-cart ride through the nearby village, enjoying the scenic countryside and observing the local way of life, and Explore a smaller, yet interesting, temple located about 1 km away from Banteay Chhmar.

10:30 AM– Head toward Battambang.

1:00 PM- Arrived Battambang Town, Have lunch, and Check in.

3:00 PM- Pick up and head to Phnom Sampov“A Tapestry of Beauty, History, and Nature”.

3:30 PM- Explore Phnom Sampov, also known as “Ship Mountain” due to its distinctive shape, is a captivating landmark in Battambang Province, Cambodia. Atop this limestone mountain sits Wat Phnom Sampov, a beautiful Buddhist monastery offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The mountain itself is riddled with caves, some adorned with Buddhist shrines and statues, adding to the site’s spiritual significance. However, Phnom Sampov also bears the weight of a dark history. During the brutal Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979), these caves were transformed into execution sites. Some human remains are still present, serving as a somber reminder of this tragic period. Despite its heavy history, Phnom Sampov offers a multifaceted experience. Every evening at dusk, millions of bats take flight from the mountain caves, creating a mesmerizing natural phenomenon known as the “Bat Cave Spectacle.” This awe-inspiring display is a testament to the resilience of nature and a welcome contrast to the mountain’s somber past.

6:00 PM- Head back to the Hotel.

Day4: Bamboo Train-Prasat Banan-Prasat Ek Phnom-Prasat Basaet

The famous bamboo train. This unique mode of transportation takes you on a scenic journey through the Cambodian countryside.

Prasat Banan, also known as Phnom Banan Temple, is an 11th-century Khmer temple perched atop a small mountain. Although some looting has occurred over time, Prasat Banan remains the best-preserved temple complex. The remaining structures provide valuable insights into Khmer architectural styles and religious practices during the Angkor era. Intricate carvings adorn the doorways and lintels, offering a closer look at Khmer craftsmanship. From the summit, you can marvel at the winding Sangker River snaking through sugar palm trees and rice paddies. Small villages dot the landscape, offering a glimpse into rural Cambodian life. On a clear day, you might even see the silhouette of a mountain shaped like a crocodile in the distance.

Day5: Old French Architecture-Old Buddhist Monaster-Boat Cruise “Battambang-Siem Reap”

The old architecture “French Architecture”. Battambang boasts a rich architectural heritage, showcasing a blend of influences from different periods, particularly French colonial and traditional Khmer styles. The most prominent architectural style in Battambang’s city center is French colonial, dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries. This era witnessed the transformation of a dispersed settlement into a bustling town under French influence.

Wat Damrei Sor, also known as the White Elephant Monastery. This vibrant Buddhist Monastery offers a captivating blend of architectural styles and serves as a significant landmark for both locals and visitors. The exact date of construction remains unclear, with estimates placing it between the 18th and 19th centuries. The most striking feature is the two white elephant statues flanking the entrance to the main temple building. These statues embody the name “Wat Damrei Sor,” where “Damrei” means “elephant” in Khmer. The Intricate carvings and vibrant murals adorn the temple walls and doorways, depicting scenes from Buddhist and Hindu mythology and showcasing the artistry of its creators.
